Sound Entertainment Events 40s live band Richmond Virginia With over 40 years of professional music making experience, 30 as a bandleader, I offer a wide variety of styles and thousands of standard tunes from the American Popular Songbook. My bands have been together for years and work easily to set a mood with background music or entertain with a custom show for almost any occasion. We back up singers and comedians, record for vocal artists plus give concerts and perform at festivals.
I started playing Dixieland music from the 1920's when I turned professional at age 11 in NYC. By age 16 I specialized in that plus Swing Era music from the 30's & 40's, Bebop and Rock&Roll from the 50's & 60's, Disco from the 70's. After College I worked with the Blues Brothers, Coasters, Drifters, O'Jays, Platters, Temptations, Gloria Gaynor plus the Ringling Bros/Barnum&Bailey Circus. I have recorded my own music and played on dozens of recording sessions for other artists.
